Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, a national law firm with a 28-person Houston office, has leased 22,627 square feet at 2 Houston Center, the latest company to announce a move to the downtown building since the owner began a dramatic renovation to the downtown development earlier this year.
Brookfield Properties, which bought the four-building Houston Center complex for $875 million in late 2017, intends to transform the property into a vibrant, easy-to-navigate office development with new greenspace, reclad skybridges and a two-story glass lobby, along with restaurants and shops.
The Vorys lease follows recent deals from Gensler and Direct Energy, which will relocate to Houston Center from Pennzoil Place and Greenway Plaza, respectively.
Vorys, which will occupy the 27th floor of 2 Houston Center, will move from Bank of America Center at 700 Louisiana.
Vorys was represented in lease negotiations by Tim Relyea and David Guion of Cushman & Wakefield. Brookfield Properties was represented by Doug Little, David Baker, Kelli Gault and Jack Scharnberg of Transwestern, and Brookfield's Clint Bawcom.
